Dance to Health is a new free 26-week falls prevention programme for older people that has now started at Saint Augustine’s Church on Brocco Bank. The sessions combine physiotherapy with the energy and creativity of movement, helping to improve strength and balance. It also provides an opportunity to meet up with people in your area as the session includes a 30-minute break where everybody can sit and have a drink, and a chat.

The programme is a partnership between Aesop, the Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group and Yorkshire Dance. To find out more about the programme call Nesreen Shah, Dance to Health Coordinator on 01993 870159 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

At 10:40am there’ll be a short, silent procession from either end of lower Western Road (between Springvale and School Roads), meeting at the plaque on the wall of Westways School, which commemorates the ex-pupils of the school who fell in WW1, and to whom the memorial trees are dedicated.

Everyone is invited to come and join the memorial service and take part in the drawing event. There will be a children’s activities tent on the car park of the architects office on Springvale Rd.
