As part of our aim to promote involvement in our community, we are hosting a hustings for the local elections.

We hope this will be an enjoyable, informative evening for local people to find out more about their candidates, and we ask that everyone approaches it in that spirit and with respect for others’ views.

The format of the evening will be:

7.00 – 7.30               Introductions. Each candidate will have no more than three minutes to present the key points of their manifesto to the meeting.

7.30 – 8.30              ‘Political speed dating’! Each candidate will sit at a table and small groups will come to them for questions and answers and group discussion. At the end of ten minutes, groups will have the chance to move round and talk to another candidate. Each group will be moderated by a member of the forum to help prevent any inflammatory or offensive questions – or answers.

8.30 – 9.00              Panel session for all candidates to wrap up with last questions from the floor.
